I can’t believe that we are quickly approaching the end of August. School is back in for the Fall semester, Halloween is right around the corner, and before we know it, the 2022 holiday season will be upon us.
For those of you that know me personally, you know that the first part of 2022 has been a whirlwind for me. I have had many plans for mmillsdesigns that I have had to put on hold because I have not had the energy, both physically and mentally, to do what I want to do on any given day. I have been very disappointed in myself, feeling like I make promises that I can’t keep in wanting to move my business forward and continue to create new jewelry for my customers.
Luckily all of that is changing, and I am happy to say things are looking up; I am turning a corner and have been working on a few projects over the last few weeks. I have not caught up with listing new jewelry on my website, so for now, I will be posting pictures on my Facebook and Instagram pages. If I do not post a price, please contact me, and I will gladly give you a price on any item.
Here is a quick preview below of a few items that are currently available to purchase; more to come! 🙂
Hello! I realize that I have been gone from my studio for a while now, but my absence could not be avoided. Soon after my last post in February, I hurt my back. I have had issues with my sciatic nerve in the past, but that was years ago, so it was quite a surprise when it flared up after so long. About two weeks after the initial pain started, my back was better, thanks to a lot of rest and avoiding sitting in my studio chair where I have to sit up straight. Once my back was better, I worked on a few custom orders that I needed to get done and shipped out.
A few days later, I had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon, and it was determined that I needed surgery to fix an issue from a surgery I had back in November 2019. For those who have not noticed the links connecting you to my other blog, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in late February 2019. Two weeks ago today, I had my 5th surgery, and I am doing well! I am excited to see my surgeon again next week to remove any stubborn steri-strips that are still hanging on to my surgery site.
Today I finally felt well enough to get back into my studio and design a few pieces. It felt so good to be able to sit for a few hours and do what I love! I hope to work on a few more pieces tomorrow, and then I will list them in my online shop.
In the last few months, I have been recovering from surgery, working on a new product line for my shop, and busy with custom orders. My shop will be closed from December 18th until January 5th. If you want to purchase something from my shop, you can either go ahead and make your purchase now, understanding that your order will not be shipped out until January 5th or 6th, or you can wait until I return. If you would like to place a custom order, please email me while I am out at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will contact you when I return.
Over the last few weeks, I have been working on new jewelry designs. I have completely reorganized my studio and stocked up on a few new supplies so that when I return after the holidays, I will be ready to start rolling out my new jewelry for 2021! I will also be continuing to work on the new product line, which I expect to have ready for sale by early Spring, and on listing items in the Destash Boutique category in my shop.
I will be posting pictures of a few of the custom orders I have completed once my customers have received their orders and have gifted them to their loved ones….I don’t want to spoil the surprise! 😁
Please stay tuned for updates on everything going on in the coming months with mmillsdesigns!
Welcome! I will update my progress on new items as well as new listings in my shop in my blog, so watch for updates in the coming weeks and months.
My website is finally fully functional and my shop is open! I only have the handmade jewelry section of my shop open at this time. I will be working on the other two sections in the coming weeks, my Destash Boutique and my Original Photography.
For those of you who not familiar with the term Destash, it is referring to the sale of crafting supplies. I have quite a few extra beads and supplies that I will be selling at a reasonable price in the coming months. I will have some individual items as well as a few bulk purchases available.
I will be working on new items for the jewelry section of my shop in the coming weeks and again, I will post updates in my blog.
