I can’t believe that we are quickly approaching the end of August. School is back in for the Fall semester, Halloween is right around the corner, and before we know it, the 2022 holiday season will be upon us.
For those of you that know me personally, you know that the first part of 2022 has been a whirlwind for me. I have had many plans for mmillsdesigns that I have had to put on hold because I have not had the energy, both physically and mentally, to do what I want to do on any given day. I have been very disappointed in myself, feeling like I make promises that I can’t keep in wanting to move my business forward and continue to create new jewelry for my customers.
Luckily all of that is changing, and I am happy to say things are looking up; I am turning a corner and have been working on a few projects over the last few weeks. I have not caught up with listing new jewelry on my website, so for now, I will be posting pictures on my Facebook and Instagram pages. If I do not post a price, please contact me, and I will gladly give you a price on any item.
Here is a quick preview below of a few items that are currently available to purchase; more to come! 🙂
Yesterday I started working on a revision of my website. I haven’t been happy with how my catalog was displaying, so I am using a new theme. So far, I am pleased with it, but let me know what you think and if you have suggestions for me.
This week is hectic for me as I only have one day where I don’t have any appointments, and that day is tomorrow. I plan to spend some decent time in the studio tomorrow, coming up with a few new ideas, and working on new pieces.
Hello! I realize that I have been gone from my studio for a while now, but my absence could not be avoided. Soon after my last post in February, I hurt my back. I have had issues with my sciatic nerve in the past, but that was years ago, so it was quite a surprise when it flared up after so long. About two weeks after the initial pain started, my back was better, thanks to a lot of rest and avoiding sitting in my studio chair where I have to sit up straight. Once my back was better, I worked on a few custom orders that I needed to get done and shipped out.
A few days later, I had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon, and it was determined that I needed surgery to fix an issue from a surgery I had back in November 2019. For those who have not noticed the links connecting you to my other blog, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in late February 2019. Two weeks ago today, I had my 5th surgery, and I am doing well! I am excited to see my surgeon again next week to remove any stubborn steri-strips that are still hanging on to my surgery site.
Today I finally felt well enough to get back into my studio and design a few pieces. It felt so good to be able to sit for a few hours and do what I love! I hope to work on a few more pieces tomorrow, and then I will list them in my online shop.
Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful time over the holidays! I know that the current times have been challenging for all of us, and I know for me, it’s easiest to take life day by day.
Now that all of my customers have received and given their gifts, I want to share some pictures of a few custom orders that I was working on before leaving town with my husband for Christmas.
I have already begun working on my 2021 jewelry line, and I will be sharing the photos with you tomorrow, Thursday, January 14th or Friday, January 15th. I am planning on creating new pieces each week, take pictures, listing them on my website, blogging an announcement that they are ready for purchase, and posting about them on social media each Thursday in the late afternoon or evening. We will see how that works out for me and if I need to make any changes, I will let you know.
I am adding a few new categories to my online shops, such as jewelry for men and kids. I will also be adding some of my original photography images and stock from my destash boutique, so look for a blog post announcing new listings in those categories, most likely around springtime.
Take care and watch for the announcement of the new listings later in the day, tomorrow or Friday!
