I just finished listing all of the jewelry I made last week in my mmillsdesigns Shop!
Yesterday I started working on a revision of my website. I haven’t been happy with how my catalog was displaying, so I am using a new theme. So far, I am pleased with it, but let me know what you think and if you have suggestions for me.
This week is hectic for me as I only have one day where I don’t have any appointments, and that day is tomorrow. I plan to spend some decent time in the studio tomorrow, coming up with a few new ideas, and working on new pieces.
Hello! I realize that I have been gone from my studio for a while now, but my absence could not be avoided. Soon after my last post in February, I hurt my back. I have had issues with my sciatic nerve in the past, but that was years ago, so it was quite a surprise when it flared up after so long. About two weeks after the initial pain started, my back was better, thanks to a lot of rest and avoiding sitting in my studio chair where I have to sit up straight. Once my back was better, I worked on a few custom orders that I needed to get done and shipped out.
A few days later, I had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon, and it was determined that I needed surgery to fix an issue from a surgery I had back in November 2019. For those who have not noticed the links connecting you to my other blog, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in late February 2019. Two weeks ago today, I had my 5th surgery, and I am doing well! I am excited to see my surgeon again next week to remove any stubborn steri-strips that are still hanging on to my surgery site.
Today I finally felt well enough to get back into my studio and design a few pieces. It felt so good to be able to sit for a few hours and do what I love! I hope to work on a few more pieces tomorrow, and then I will list them in my online shop.
Thank you for your understanding and support! 💕
Hello! I didn’t have an update for last week due to a few things. It was an emotional week for me, so it was hard to concentrate on making new jewelry. Instead, I focused on fine-tuning my new organizational system in my studio and ordering a few new items I needed to create a new type of jewelry that I will be designing next week. I am so excited to present a different kind of jewelry to you, and I hope you will love it as much as I do!
I will have another update, listings in my shop, and photos of some of my new items towards the end of next week, so be on the lookout!
Please note that next week I will be working on new items for Valentine’s Day in particular, so if you have any custom requests, please let me know by either emailing me at mary@mmillsdesigns.com or going to my Contact Me page on this website.
Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful time over the holidays! I know that the current times have been challenging for all of us, and I know for me, it’s easiest to take life day by day.
Now that all of my customers have received and given their gifts, I want to share some pictures of a few custom orders that I was working on before leaving town with my husband for Christmas.
I have already begun working on my 2021 jewelry line, and I will be sharing the photos with you tomorrow, Thursday, January 14th or Friday, January 15th. I am planning on creating new pieces each week, take pictures, listing them on my website, blogging an announcement that they are ready for purchase, and posting about them on social media each Thursday in the late afternoon or evening. We will see how that works out for me and if I need to make any changes, I will let you know.
I am adding a few new categories to my online shops, such as jewelry for men and kids. I will also be adding some of my original photography images and stock from my destash boutique, so look for a blog post announcing new listings in those categories, most likely around springtime.
Take care and watch for the announcement of the new listings later in the day, tomorrow or Friday!
